Doug Connell Sound Effects and sound Design
I have been an audio engineer since 1992 and have grown from recording interviews and live events into recording and mixing sound effects and creating immersive environments. Most of the recording that I do is to capture base layer sound to establish a “place”. From there I record the specific highlighting sounds that dictate the environment and I feature those sounds front and center. I record with a mulit-track recorder and I am always experimenting with binaural sound. I use a tascam sd based audio recorder, Shure FP33 mixer with great mic pre’s, a stereo sennheiser microphone and my flagshhip mic is the CMC 6/MK 4 Schoeps. Some of the sound I’ve recorded has been used in video games, museum exhibits, and documentaries.
